what is the difference between 怪我 and 傷 (kizu)?

怪我 is used to descibe big physical wound. For example, in a car accident.傷 is not very serious. For example,finger is cut by a paper.

怪我 : getting wounds
傷 ： wound itself
OK：ころんで傷ができた。
NG：ころんで怪我ができた
OK：ころんで怪我した
NG：ころんで傷した
OK: 深い傷が残った。
NG：深い怪我が残った。
OK：怪我しないようにね
NG：傷しないようにね
