Say I ask someone a question, and I expect them to only answer by yes or no. but instead they start giving a long answer with lots of unnecessary stuff.
So I want them to say only either yes or no. What's the correct way to say it?
1. Answer only by yes or no please
2. Answer only with yes or no please
3. Answer only yes or no please

2. and 3. are both grammatically correct, but personally, I would say "Yes or no will do, thank you."

2,I think preposition “with” is better
