冰柜 or 冷冻室? Which word do you use for a "freezer"? Hi, You know the top part of your fridge (called "freezer") where you put your ice cream and frozen food? Or maybe your fridge opens side-by-side and has a designated area inside where you put all of the frozen stuff... Which word do you use for a "freezer"? 冰柜, 冷冻室 or some other word? Thank you.

If you are mentioning the area which is used to freeze something in the refrigerator, the area is called "冷冻室", the other areas outside "冷冻室" is called "冷藏室" where is used to preserve something. With regard to "冰柜", it's more like of a big chest with a sliding door on the top, usually be placed in a convenience shop, supermarket, small restaurant, etc. It has a larger volume than the refrigerator in house.

霜箱, 冰箱 or 柜 is what you want for the freezer in the refrigerator. 室 means a room. So it is a huge room, places where things are to be refrigerated as storage. For example in supermarkets or restaurants.
