what's the difference between equip, provide and supply ?
for ex: The expedition was equipped with proper clothing
why not say was supplies or provided . the three words just confuse me which one to use while speaking

Equipped, Provided and Supplied are all very similar words. Equipped is very old and is used in writing to make things more dramatic, but you wouldn't use it in speaking. When speaking I would say "The expedition was provided with proper clothing".
