What is the main difference between compulsive and compulsory? What is the main difference between compulsive and compulsory? Are these two words interchangeable?

No they are not. Compulsory means you have to do it, like a subject at university you must do to pass,this subject is compulsory. Compulsive means something you do as a habit and can't stop yourself, my sister always fixes her tea cups the right way which is compulsive. She doesn't think about it and it annoys everyone but she feels better to have them her way... Compulsive is also a strong feeling to do something but not like an addiction. Hope that helps.
