I tried to make conversation .
Why does not It have a "a" betweent "make" and " conversation?
What is the difference between "make conversation" and " make a conversation"?

Make conversation is the phrase you want to use. It means to have a conversation with somebody. To make a conversation is not a phrase that is used. That would mean to literally create a conversation.

Hi! You can make conversation, which is to make an effort to talk about something, maybe to fill an awkward silence, and you cant make a conversation, you can have a conversation with someone about something.
