Olá Tiago!
So this expression is used to describe someone who is having difficulty in paying everything (rent, bills, etc.). He/she is poor, and he/she is just trying to "get by."
Examples:
-Since Jack only had thee dollars in his bank account, he was struggling to make ends meet.
-The father had difficulty in making ends meet ever since he was laid off from his job.
-Jim and Pam were able to make ends meet for the month.
Hope this helps! Tem um bom dia!
