About a pun There is a line in the movie Andhadhun: What is life? It depends on the liver. I understand the "liver" has two meanings here. The sentence is a pun. I want to know if this pun exists in the English language, or it is only the wordplay made by the movie. Could you please help me fully understand the fun? Thank you very much!

I like this line: it sounds like a gag Dean Martin or Jack Benny might have used, and cleverly hesitating for the audience to get the second slant. Sorry I'm 72 you probably haven't heard of these gag masters.

I have not ever heard this pun but we do have a lot of puns and word-play in English. This particular one was made by the movie. Puns in English don't require you to have heard them or memorize them previously. They work best if after a couple seconds of thought the meaning(s) are obvious.

Hi Veronique. What an offal pun (sorry, I couldn't help it). I've never heard this pun out in the world, but it's as good as most.

Hi Veronique, yes this is a famous quote by the American philosopher William James (1842-1910). Sometimes it's attributed to Winston Churchill.
