What does a “platonic friend” mean?
Dear native speakers, please, could you explain to me what does a “platonic friend” mean? I know what platonic love means. For example, there is a girl and two guys. She loves one of these two guys and he loves her too but they have only romantic relationships, platonic relationships with no sexual relationships because they are young and shy. Another guy is her friend. He is her close friend (a true friend). Who is the platonic friend for her?
I am preparing for a lesson in a speaking club. The topic is "A friend indeed?"

A platonic friend is basically a non-amorous/non-sexual/non-romantic friend, just friends and nothing else.
Edit: in your example, the platonic friend is the latter (the one that is just a friend).
