You can check the words that fit with "range" according to the oxford collocation dictionary here: http://www.freecollocation.com/search?word=range. Generally speaking, wide + range is the preferred option. In exams it would be marked as an unnatural choice. I'm sure native speakers sometimes use it, they often get away with 'mistakes' non-native speakers are penalised for in exams.

A wide range of clothes is a common phrase in English and is used more in businesses. A big choice of clothes could be used in a more personal sense - as in "I have a big choice of clothes in my wardrobe." So it would depend on context.

It depends on how you phrase it. You could say "The shop sells a wide range of clothes" "there is a wide range of clothes on offer". You could also say "there is a big choice of clothes" but "wide range" is better.
