Would you use singular or plural in this situation?
A found 2 books in a bag. Would you refer to use singular (a bag) or plural (2 books) in this conversation?
A: Are you looking for [this / these]?
B: Yes, can I have [it / them] back to me?
Is there a rule for example, we consider from what we see outside, thus, a bag, using singular?
Thank you.

Hello! I am happy to help. In this situation, you would use the plural.
A. Are you looking for these?
B. Yes, can I have them back.
You would use the plural because you are speaking specifically about the two books not the bag.
