Is it appropriate to name ''Lori''? I'm looking for an international name but I heard that some names have bad meaning in English like ''candy''. So I wanna know if ''Lori'' is ok to be a name?😣 Thank you.

Lori is perfectly fine. I have a good friend by that name. Excellent choice! Also, Candy is not bad either. I worked at a medical office with a woman by that name.

Hi there! I think that "Lori" is a good name, but I also think that you can use your real name if you want to. There is a common idea that Eastern names are hard to pronounce, so many English students choose a "western" name. I taught in Korea, and the English center made all the kids choose an English name. But, I used their real Korean names because...they are their names. The kids have no attachment to their "English" name. And I don't either. And the other teacher from Britain also chose to use their real names. I think we live in a very global society, and I think we need to get used to saying unfamiliar names. I'm sure you have a beautiful name. If you want to use "Lori" and don't like to hear your name mispronounced, I think that using an English or "western" name is okay. I have met someone like that before too. But if you like your real name, I think you can use it too. I always feel bad that people think "I have to change my name so that others can pronounce it." I just wanted to encourage you to use a name you're most comfortable with and not worry about others. :)

Name popularity varies by age and country. In the US, Lori is very common in the 50+ age group but very rare among the young. But I doesn’t have any negative associations that I’m aware of. For a young person in the US I think any kind of name is accepted, especially Chinese names.

Good name. Other information: Lorry means truck. Lolly - a totally different word, unrelated means a type of sweet/candy. . Lori - seems as if it would be a fine name. . https://nameberry.com/babyname/Lori says that Lori is short for Laura - a popular name for many years. Laura is a girl's name. Lori - probably the same, but maybe for either a guy or a girl.
