What is the difference between 보태다 and 보충하다?
Naver lists them both as 'supplement, make up for deficiancy' etc, I was wondering if there is a difference between their usage - are they interchangeable or is one used specifically in some cases?
Many Thanks!

보충하다, 보태다 has same meaning
However they use
S(이/가) O(을/를) 보충하다
S(이/가) O(을/를) (부사어;adverb)에 보태다

They are basically same. 보충 is 한자 and 보태다 is a pure Korean word
They are pretty much interchangeable but depending on context only one of them would sound natural.
For example,
운동 후에는 충분한 영양소를 보충해 줘야 합니다. here you don't want to say 보태다
조금이라도 보탬이 되면 좋겠습니다. here you don't want to use 보충
