I'd go for old-fashioned. Outdated fits better with software or processes

People are old-fashioned - "My mom is too old-fashioned to ever use an electric can opener." Ideas, things in the general category of "intellectual" property, things that are long out of style become outdated - "I love music from the 1960's and early 1970's, but some of the lyrics sound terribly outdated." "Parachute pants and trickle-down economics are both horribly outdated." Things that are just on their way out of style are dated: "Has tumblr become dated yet?" Note: "to be dated" has other meanings. For a person to become dated, another person has to have a romantic interest in them and take them out on dates. :)
