Rotation just means turning something about a particular point, and does not specify how much you turn it. A revolution means turning something all the way around, or going all the way around something, like turning 360 degrees on the spot, or the Earth doing a complete orbit around the sun.

If I have a pancake and I put one side up(after cooking the other side), then I have just ROTATED that pancake from one side to the other. If I take that same pancake and rotate/put back on its original side AFTER flipping that pancaking once, that’s a ROTATION.

Depends on context. Technically...no. Revolution is like an over turning of something. Rotating is like a spinning of something.

In astronomy, rotation is the spinning of a planet or moon: It's what causes days and nights on Earth. Revolution is a moon circling around a planet or a planet circling around a star in an orbit. It's what causes years on Earth.
