I got this sentence from an article, what does it mean (esp. ECHARTE) ?

Depends on the context "echarte" can be:
to try something
to have sex with someone
to do acrobatics
to move on a specific direction
to lay down
to tell a joke or sing a song
etc...

El diccionario de la RAE explica también los dichos y expresiones de Hispanoamérica. Es posible que lo que dice Jaime sea un localismo que no ha llegado todavía al diccionario, pero no es ni mucho menos el significado normal ni en la literatura ni en el idioma hablado.

You may look the dictionary, number 48 in this address (RAE= Real Academia Española de la lengua). The meaning of this expression has nothing to do with sex.

Don't let others cheat you... the meaning of "ECHARTE unos amigos españoles" is far from "to do new friends", is actually "to have sex with some friends from Spain". If the articule would like to say "to do new friend", would say: "Es un buen sitio para CONOCER nuevos amigos españoles", never "ECHARTE unos amigos españoles".
