Jordi Jorge
Go on (Meaning) I am curious to know the meaning of the phrasal verb "GO ON" in the song "my heart will go on" by Celine Dion. I wonder if it has the same meaning throughout the song or it has a different meaning in each verse. I am including three verses of the song. 1. Every night in my dreams I see you, I feel you. That is how I know you GO ON. 2. Far across the distance and spaces between us you have come to show you GO ON. 3. Near, far, wherever you are I believe that the heart does GO ON. Once more you open the door, and you're here in my heart. And my heart will GO ON and on.

Yes, I agree with you Jordi, I'd say it means the love continues to exist.

Thanks, Glenn. If do that, it makes sense but I can't easily understand the verse 3. VERSE 3: Near, far, wherever you are I believe that the heart does CONTINUE TO EXIST. Once more you open the door, and you're here in my heart. And my heart will CONTINUE TO EXIST and EXIST. I can easily understand this "The heart continues to exist." I wonder if it means something like "The heart continues to beat" or "The love is still there."

"Go on" means "continue to exist". Just swap that into the lyrics in all three verses and you'll see it makes perfect sense.
