is there a different meaning for "tomato sauce"
This is from a documentary that I am watching.
Does tomato sauce mean adventure or something in slang?
The great outdoors wouldn't be the great outdoors without lashings of extra tomato sauce on it. something to give it a bit of flavour and a bit of spice.

I agree with Chris. However, I think the tomato sauce in this metaphor might actually be ketchup as tomato sauce on pizza isn't typically spicy.

It's not a standard phrase: it's just a metaphor that the narrator created. Here, the narrator is comparing the outdoors to a pizza.
If you are fat and boring, you might order your pizza with extra cheese. Cheese is calming and comforting.
If you are adventurous, you might order your pizza with extra tomato sauce. Tomato sauce is flavorful, and it wakes you up.
