How do you find the right learning method?
Hi, everyone! :)
I was just wondering how language lovers find the learning method that best suits them.
Over the years, I've tried several methods but sometimes it becomes quite hard to find your own method. What do you usually do while learning a foreign language?
As a student, I used to focus my attention above all on grammar and vocabulary but I spoke so little and on so few occasions that I didn't make much progress. Now, I'm careful about developing all the four different language abilities: writing, speaking, listening and reading. What about you?
I'm curious about your own method :)

Hi Cristina, it's still impossible to message you. In case it's not just italki misbehaving, here's how to change it (sorry if I'm explaining the obvious): Go to "Settings", then "Privacy". Under "Who can send me a message or a chat" it has to say "Anyone", should look like this: https://imgur.com/a/r5QJrw0
The last setting in the screenshot, "Profile is visible on the language partner search page" will make your profile appear in the list under "Community" - "Find language partners", so people might find your profile there and contact you.
Technology issues aside, I'm a German native speaker learning Italian. Send me a message if you want to have a chat :)

Cristina, as an aside -- your profile invites language partners, but you have messages turned off, so there's no way for people to contact you.

Cristina, you might get a more robust response in "Discussion" instead of "Answers".
I agree to using a multi-dimensional approach... I usually do 60% academic grammar and 40% on the other abilities: writing, speaking, listening & reading.
