What is the difference between 欠ける and 欠く? Both seem to mean the same.

Transitive or Intransitive.
欠ける - かれは ユーモアの センスが 欠けている。(
欠く - かれは ユーモアの センスを 欠いている。
He doesn't have any sense of humor.
