Can anybody explain to me the real meaning of the verb "figure out"?, I'm rather confused.
I'm not sure if the meaning is equivalent to "imaginarse", "solucionar" in spanish, then I don't feel confident to use it

What is two plus two?
Can you figure it out in your head?
Your wife has been coming home very late for the last two weeks.
Can you figure out what she is doing?
Have you figured it all out yet?

Hola Jorge!^^
"Figure out" simply means "to understand."
For example:
I finally figure out how to solve that math problem.
It means same saying, "I finally understand how to solve that math problem."

"figure out" is more of "comprender" in spanish .
In English it means to reason , to understand the real reason of something
"Have you figured out what it is all about ?" for example :)

Yo diría en castellano... "averiguar"
