Is there any difference between centre and center?

centre and center mean the same- only that centre is used in Britain and center is used in USA

Centre is the British English.
Center is the American English
"tre" was hard to pronounce. The editor chaned "tre" to "ter" and published it in the first version of American dictionary.

Center, is the American English spelling.
Both are accepted worldwide.
