How do you say "I want to eat food" in Japanese?

"I want to eat food".. In japanese it is not comman to use "food" to express that you want to eat something; however, there are some useful expressions.
I want to eat something
- 何か食べたい。
Nanika tabetai
I am hungry.
- お腹すいた 、 お腹がすいた
onaka suita 、 onakaga suita
I want to eat meal.
- 食事がしたい
shokuji ga shitai

O-naka suita. O-naka suichatta. Male can say "hara hetta". :)))

The word "food" is surely superfluous. You can just say:
食べたい
(tabetai = I want to eat)
