If you mean to introduce yourself to the pupils, I think it's better not to give them much information about you.. you mention your name, the school from which you come (where you taught the year before) and hope for them a successful year! I think that's quite enough. More imporatant is to get to know your pupils and retain their names as soon as possible, this will make your relation with them more friendly and closer which will have a good impact on their readiness and capability of understanding and retension and their interaction in the classroom.
