Cantonese, Shanghainese, Taiwanese are dialects, Madarin is the official language in China, they are all chinese.

hi,all the Chinese people say Chinese Mandarin, but Cantonese, Shanghainese, Taiwanese ect ect,they re all the dialect in China.......by the way,if u want to learn Cantonese,i think i might could help u,i speak Cantonese,Chinese Mandarin.

Mandarin is the official language. Chinese dialects are mainly for oral conversation only, they are different in pronunciation, tone and word terms from each other.
