what's the difference between "todavía" and "aún" when they mean STILL?

Aún y todavia significan lo mismo y puedes sustutuir una palabra por la otra. Ej :
** El correo aún no ha llegado** ** El correo todavía no ha llegado**
En el único caso en que NO son sinónimos es cuando "aun" no lleva tilde diacrítica, entonces significa "incluso o hasta" Ej:
** Aun si no llega, debo hacer los preparativos**
