Sometimes I regard me as a dog,I love dogs,look at my head portrait ,hahaha .Nothing bad to be a dog.dogs are our best friends.

One is very intelligent and is able to follow complex instructions with perfect results.

There is no big difference, because they are both men ;),but there are few distinguishing features to name:
You can't teach an old dog new tricks ,but an old engineer could still learn some ;)
A dog's dinner is always messy,while an engineer could prepare a proper one.
It is easier to domesticate dogs.
It is a pity to go to the dogs, but going to the engineers might get things fixed.
Hot dogs are usually sexier than hot engineers.
Leading a dog's life is boring, an engineer's life might be more exciting (not necessarily though).

The difference is that a dog can not be an engineer but an engineer man if can be very dog. (womanizer)
