It seems that you have no commitment to waking up early , like going to work or college etc...! All you have to do is to wake up early ,make that a habit. You will need to sleep earlier then.If you already sleep late and therefore wake up late ,then you have to break this vicious circle by doing any activity in the morning, that forces you to wake up. Once you are active in the morning and refrain from sleeping during the day or even having the so called 'siesta',your body will automatically need to sleep earlier ,then you will create a new habit of waking up early and going to bed earlier. You might have to change as well some habits, that might be the reason why you are awake at night such as: - Drinking lots of coffee or any drink including caffeine before you go to sleep. - Watching movies or using the internet at night. It is a bit difficult at the beginning to break the habit, but try to figure out an action plan and go for it ;)

If you can try to go to bed and get up at the same times every day. It might take a few days but once your body is used to the routine it will automatically feel sleepy and want to wake up at the times you programme it to. Although some of these points have already been made, these are the things which help me go to sleep earlier: - Do not nap during the day, - 10 - 30 minutes of exercise in the early evening, - Avoid large meals and caffeinated drinks after 7 pm - Avoid blue light for a couple of hours before you go to bed (for example from a phone, computer, television..) And most importantly for me: - Do not try to force yourself to sleep, only go to bed when you are tired. If you are not tired try a milky drink, read or listen to some relaxing music. If you still have trouble getting to sleep early you might consider what is keeping you awake, for example if you are stressed or anxious about something. If you are suffering from insomnia rather than trying to get to sleep earlier you might want to consult a doctor, sleeping pills are useful but should be a last resort. Good Luck! Clemency

Ha. We have the same problem. XD I take melatonin on the nights that I have to go to sleep earlier than I'm used to. Melatonin is what your body produces naturally to make you sleepy. Just take one, cut out all of the lights and turn off all of the unnecessary electronics and sleep should come fairly soon. It's important to only take melatonin when you really need it because you can develop a higher tolerance of it and it won't work as well.
