Please, explain me the meaning of: "take a bow". Thank you.

take a bow= to accept recognition and appreciation for your performance or work.
In the theatre the cast of a play or musical bow to the at the end of their performance. In other areas of life 'take a bow ' means that you are being complimented for doing a good job.
