Hola Santiago!
"Su" can mean "his/her" but it can also mean "your" if you're talking to someone in a formal way (usted)
And "tu" means "your" if you're talking to someone in an informal way:)
For example, "Usted tiene un perro. Su perro mordió a mi hijo"
"Tu tienes un perro. Tu perro mordió a mi hijo"

"su" y "tu", son adjetivos posesivos átonos (o débiles). Siempre van delante del nombre que determinan. Concuerdan en género y en número con el nombre que modifican.
"tu" se usa para calificar la segunda persona del singular: ej. tu casa, tu perro.
"su" califica la tercera persona del singular: ej. su niña, su niño, su vestido.

y
tu sin tilde significa posesion que a alguien pertenece el objeto.
examples:
1) Tú amas a rosa?.= Do You love Rose?.
2) Tu rosa esta bella. = Your rose is nice.
