这句话是不是说很经济上很拮据的意思？
是不是和中文里“从牙缝里省出来的钱”有差不多的意思？期待解答中

The phrase we usually use in English as the corresponding idiom is "to get blood out of a stone". If something is uncooperative or very difficult you can say "it's like blood from a stone".
