Could you please help me correct the following sentences?

A few days ago, I was surprised at a photo that my colleague from Czech posted on Facebook. In the photo, he was taking a funny pose in the polling station in the embassy, and just about to vote his ballot into the ballot box. In Japanese polling station, we aren’t supposed to take a picture inside and I haven’t even thought of trying it. I wondered how he took the picture and asked him, and his answer made me even more surprised. He said, “Oh, since the polling station was not busy, so I asked the voting witness to take this photo :)”

By the way, in your country, is it allowed to take a picture inside of a polling station? Have you ever tried, or would you like to?

I don't think so, but I believe people still do in places where things aren't so strict. Is it not allowed everywhere in Japan?
