Learn hirigana first then katakana. Katakana & hirigana both have similarities in some of the “letters”. (ex: “Mo” & “Ri” is the written the same both ways) Katakana is more sharp and stylistic in the way it’s written / used in Japan however hirigana has a consistent font & in my opinion is more flowy. Once you memorize hirigana & start working on Katakana you will be able to tell the difference between the two —- goodluck ^_^
