Danny

I have worked with Danny for over 6 months to help improve my conversational Spanish. He has also helped me with my writing skills, particularly with understanding the expectations for different types of texts (e.g. a formal business letter vs an email to a friend). He is extremely kind, empathetic, and patient, and keeps the conversation flowing, while correcting my mistakes and introducing new words and expressions. As someone who often feels very anxious speaking in a foreign language, his classes have made me feel more confident. Danny teaches more than just Spanish, he is extremely knowledgeable about Colombian culture, literature, media, and politics, and has aided me in adjusting to local social norms and bureaucratic processes while living in Colombia. I highly recommend Danny's classes.

Honestly, one of the best teachers for advanced Spanish whom I have encountered! I really enjoy his classes. He has truly helped me advance with practical tips and he customizes our classes to my interests/needs.

During my class with Danny today, he guided the conversation smoothly across a range of topics, drawing on his broad knowledge and making the session both interesting and informative. I’ve taken lessons with many italki teachers, and he’s one of the few who can keep a conversation going by offering useful perspectives while asking thoughtful questions. I took many lessons from Danny and i will take more lessons for sure, and i can easily feel that my Spanish is getting better each lesson. I really enjoyed my first lesson with Danny! We just chatted the whole time. It was pretty informal, but he was able to help me whenever I didn't know a word, and towards the end, we discussed learning styles, and what kind of classes I would like moving forward, as well as preferred ways of feedback.
