About Me
italki teacher since Jan 14, 2022InterestsWritingTravelArtReadingMusic
My name is Lilian Indombera Musundi.
I would like to share my passion and knowledge of the Swahili language with individuals on their enjoyable learning journey out there. I love teaching Swahili because I believe it acts as a bridge, a door opener, a gateway for persons to pursue their dreams.
My main interests are writing; children stories and narratives, telling stories to children, fashion and design, photography, farming crops and keeping chicken .I walk at five days in a week and I enjoy swimming. I love traveling and learning the richness of different cultures, which are unique.. I have traveled to Spain,Egypt, India, Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania.Me as a Teacher
I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, Swahili and Literature, majoring in English and Literature. I also have a postgraduate diploma in Education. I have over 10years teaching experience in different capacities. Both in the formal sector that is school set up and in the informal sector outside the school system, in the community and in the development world. I am patient and I guide my students through consistency, persistence to achieve accuracy and fluency in English in their respective fields. I also teach development workers in writing narrative reports which include best practices and stories of change, videos, documentaries and newsletters. My lessons & teaching style
I use different methodologies based on the needs of my students. But mostly learner centred, a give and take situation allowing the student to think outside the box, I like to use examples in their lives, neighbourhoods to help them internalize the lessons. I also use examples from my travels. Even as I teach tenses and sentence construction, I like to make it fun.
In addition I also use text books, explanations, demonstrations, drama, role play, storytelling, online resources, discussions( about current affairs) and written exercises . This solely is determined or moulded by the students’ needs and priorities for taking the lesson. My teaching material

We've been learning Swahili with Lillian for months now, and she's been absolutely amazing! Her lessons are always so interesting and well-planned. She's got this knack for using a variety of materials to keep things fun and engaging. We've read everything from Swahili storybooks and grammar guides to interesting essays and dialoogues, so there's never a dull moment.
On top of that, Lillian is a true professional. She's really caring and attentive to each student's needs. She takes the time to explain things clearly, and she's super patient with us as we practice our speaking skills. Honestly, I can't recommend Lillian enough if you're looking to learn Swahili in a way that's both fun and effective.
