Hi! I'm Maria, a foreign language teacher with experience in education. I have taught English to adults, adolescents, and children and I've been working as a Spanish tutor for foreigners here on Italki.
I'm all about being friendly and patient in my interactions. There's something truly amazing about connecting with people from different countries, swapping stories about our lives, and immersing ourselves in each other's cultures. But you know what really gets me excited? Languages! They're like these beautiful bridges that help us cross into different worlds. Teaching them is my jam – there's nothing quite like seeing someone's eyes light up when they grasp a new phrase or concept.
I have a degree in foreign languages and have 2 years of teaching experience in English, along with 1 year of tutoring in Spanish. I possess the skill to seamlessly adjust, especially in the virtual classroom, ensuring students feel at ease and content. I also make sure to motivate students with dynamic activities and materials, and I adapt to what students truly want to learn, all aimed at achieving success in their learning journey.

Maria is easy-going in conversational lessons but will gently correct you when necessary. She does a good job explaining more complex grammar with nuance. Conversational classes can be focused on specific topics or can naturally meander - low-pressure for someone who needs to gain confidence in both speaking and listening. She speaks clearly (and slowly when needed) with an accent that is easy to understand.
