I'm Lorna, a native English speaker from the North-west of England where i was born and live. I started my working life as a Chef during which time I communicated frequently with non English speakers. I've travelled and spent time in many countries within Asia and Europe. I lived and worked in the Netherlands for a year so I have an understanding of the challenges faced when communicating in a new language. I Love to meet people and learn about new cultures. I have many interests including photography, art, listening to podcasts and music, going to gigs, watching boxsets and movies and all the outdoors brings from climbing mountains to gardening. I also love to cook and try out new recipes.Me as a Teacher
I have a 120 hour TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and online teaching certification. I am very friendly, relaxed, understanding and patient. I would like you to feel at ease as if you were talking to a friend. After each class I want you to leave feeling happy, inspired and confident, wanting to discover and learn more about the English language. I DO NOT TEACH CHILDREN OR BEGINNERS. I offer conversational practice classes only. I believe practicing a language through everyday conversation is key to improving your fluency and communication skills. I can help you with basic tenses and pronunciation. Expand your vocabulary and become familiar with common sayings and slang. These steps will help enable you to build up your confidence so you are able to express yourself in a natural way. Lessons will be laid back conversations on any subject you like. I will listen and correct you when needed, have no fear of making mistakes because that's how everybody learns, not just in language but in life.
