Hi! I’m a Belgian teacher, I studied engineering and I teach math and Dutch online. I’m fluent in multiple languages (English, French, Dutch, Spanish). I love travelling and I play harp since I was 10!

After my engineering degree, I studied didactics to become a teacher. Since then, I've been teaching in high schools and online. My students describe me as enthusiastic, patiently friendly, and structured. For more than 3 years now, I've been teaching on iTalki almost daily: to kids, teenagers and adults! • In the exercises classes, we'll work on particular subjects at your level and pace (spelling/grammar/pronunciation/writing/reading/...)
• In the conversation classes, we'll focus on the talking and I'll correct you, without interrupting the conversation. These are not for level 0 beginners :)
• I’m a patient, enthusiastic teacher, I won’t judge and I will always encourage you! It’s the mistakes that teach us the most, so don’t be afraid of them!
• Since I don’t have a degree in languages, unfortunately I can’t help you with preparing for particular tests. But, I am a native Dutch speaker, so I can help you with anything else you need (emails for work, phone skills, grammar, reading, …)5.0

Annelies is an excellent Dutch teacher. She was extremely attentive and fully focused during our lesson, and she gave very clear, practical feedback that helped me understand exactly where I can improve.
What I especially appreciated is how friendly and easygoing her corrections were — it made me feel comfortable speaking and making mistakes, which really helps learning. Instead of feeling shy, I felt motivated to keep improving.
I really enjoyed our first lesson and I’m very much looking forward to our next one. I would happily recommend Annelies to anyone who wants supportive, focused, and effective Dutch teaching.

A very kind and understanding presence with a premade “textbook” that covers all six aspects of learning a new language in themed units that help connect vocabulary to grammar. Tailored early vocab to my personal linguistics interest and discussed the cultural differences that influence the way the language is spoken. Overall I am very excited to book lessons following my trial lesson.
