Professional English teacher with experience in all levels of learners I'm a native English speaker from the Boston, Massachusetts in the United States. I lived in Madrid, Spain as an English teacher for 4 lovely years and now I've moved back to Boston. I've always loved learning languages and I'm excited to share that hobby with you! My other interests include music, composition, travel, and sports such as swimming, kayaking, and rock climbing. I have 6 years of professional experience as an ESL teacher for students with a broad range of English ability. I've taught kids between the ages of 3 and 18 years old as well as adults of all ages who want to sharpen their skills. My preferred method of learning has always been conversation, so in my teaching I like to focus on the way native speakers really talk. It's important to understand and be able to correctly utilize proper grammatical structures, so I make sure that the student has a grasp on proper speaking technique before moving on to more casual speaking patterns. I hope to help you improve your English through interesting conversation! As these classes are conversation-based, I like to focus on practical use of English and pronunciation. Although I don't believe there is any harm in having an accent, I will encourage pronunciation of native English vowel sounds in certain words and phrases so as to minimize miscommunication during conversation.
