Marah

Marah is a really good teacher! We talked about many topics during the class and she pays attention to how you are saying and gives you corrections after that, so you can improve your speaking. I love how she has come up with a very creative idea to tackle my problem with past verbs in Spanish! Definitely will book more lessons with her!

Marah is a warm, kind, and inviting person. Of any teacher I have spoken to in Spanish, I honestly feel the most comfortable conversing with her - she is patient and keeps the atmosphere and pace of conversation relaxed. She's the best!

I learned more in my first lesson with Marah than I have in the past year with my current spanish teacher. Marah knows how to relate tough Spanish concepts (i.e Subjunctive) to English which makes it easy to learn quickly. I also loved that the lesson was tailored to my goal of conversation making sure we spend time on verbs that people use when talking in casual conversations and skipping over ones rarely used. If you are struggling with Subjunctive take a lesson with Marah!

Marah was very patient when I struggled through our conversation, and suggested useful words and phrases when I was stuck. We had a great session and made plans for the next one!

The conversation wasn't as smooth as many other teachers I have had on Italki. I also very much want to be corrected, but I found it frustrating that she would say I am wrong using some words, just because they are not the ones from her native country. This happened a few times, for example, my use of the word torta for cake is not wrong, this is widely excepted. Maybe say that is correct, but these words are also used in this region. She did send detailed notes after the lesson, which I appreciated.

I enjoyed speaking with Marah, the conversation was very relaxed and encouraging, excellent for practicing speaking Spanish.
