Certified TEFL teacher with over 10 years Italki experience I am a native British English speaker who loves traveling, finding out more about other cultures. I have traveled across many countries in Asia including China, Japan, Malaysia, Laos, Thailand, and Cambodia and spent four months in various parts of India. I am now retired from my professional career having spent 30 years working as an Occupational therapist in the NHS and Social Services, prior to 10 years working in the voluntary sector. I undertook a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification in 2010 and have been teaching online via Italki when my travels have permitted. As I am based in the UK the time differences and my availability tend to favour students who are based across Europe- so the majority of my students are from Spain, France, Italy and Russia. I am however always really pleased to be able to speak to students from other countries especially Latin America, and China so if you can't find a mutually convenient time please get in touch as I can often juggle my schedule. I have found that most of my students appreciate the opportunity for meaningful conversation and have enjoyed many discussions with students across the world who want to develop their confidence in language skills.
