About Me

š®š¹ My nameās Matilda - you can call me Mati :) Iām an Italian native speaker. Iām from Pisa and I live, study and work in Siena. I'm new to Italki but I have experience in real-life teaching.
I graduated (Bachelorās degree) in Italian Language and culture, and I am graduating in Didactic of Italian as a second language (Masterās degree)
šŗļø I am open minded, creative and curious. I enjoy cultural exchange, I learn a lot from my studentsā experiences. Teaching is my biggest passion! I also love travelling and studying other languages myself, and I enjoy literature, art, music and food.Me as a Teacher
š£ļø I encourage my students to speak, not to feel embarrassed when they make mistakes because they are 100% normal and part of the process.
š¤ My goal is helping you to feel comfortable and confident while making progress. Iām looking forward to helping you with the most challenging topics and answering all your questions.

ā¤ļø I love an informal environment and I want my lessons to be as enjoyable as possible for you. Staying motivated is key in the process of leaning a second language, and Iāll do my best to make you reach your goals.
š I believe in a communicative approach, weāll be using a variety of customized videos, songs and texts to expand your vocabulary and reinforce grammar structures.
If you feel like it, I can give you some homework and I'll be more than happy to revise it together.

Tutor in classeI spent a semester in Hanoi, Vietnam, and I got a double degree at Hanoi's University. There, I did a traineeship as a Tutor in Italian language classes.

Online teachingI volunteered as an Italian teacher for two young immigrants who were integrated in Italian school system.

Teacher and group leaderI am currently working at CLUSS, a language centre in my University that organizes Italian courses for foreigners. I am teaching to both groups and individuals, sometimes I am a group leader for new groups of students who see the city for the first time.

Mathilda is very engaging and supportive. We went through an Italian textbook about traveling. That way we could study grammar and vocabulary but also practice real conversation.
