Hi! I'm Caroline, and I'm from Kentucky (US). I have been a TOEFL Speaking Rater since 2014, and I've been tutoring TOEFL test takers since 2022. I'm also a world traveler - I studied abroad in France as an undergraduate, taught high school English in China, and completed my Master's degree in the UK. In my free time, I enjoy reading, studying foreign languages, hiking, and doing jigsaw puzzles. I hope to see you on italki soon!Me as a Teacher
I have experience teaching classes and individual students. My role as a teacher is particularly suited to one-on-one lessons. I encourage my students to be open and share about themselves so that they feel more comfortable expressing themselves in English. I prioritize being a good listener and creating a supportive environment where students are confident practicing and improving their English.My lessons & teaching style
My lessons are guided by each student's goals and expectations. Since the priority of most students preparing for the TOEFL is achieving a particular score, I can offer an assessment of a student's current TOEFL Speaking score range. I can identify difficulties that students are encountering and practice with TOEFL Speaking materials to address them. I provide detailed feedback on responses to practice TOEFL questions and offer suggestions to help students reach their full speaking potential.My teaching material
