I can help you improve your listening and pronunciation by giving you a solid base on Spanish phonetics (how sounds are made) and phonology (how the sounds vary).
Note: You DO NOT need "Italki Plus". All Italki Plus does is use AI to generate stuff from the audio recording when you use Italki Classroom. I do NOT recommend using Italki Classroom because it's unstable. Please choose Zoom instead. And I use Google Docs to write anything you need to remember, so Italki Plus is pointless if you're taking lessons with me.
Before our lesson, please:
-Get a headset with microphone
-Install ZOOM
-Create a Google Document and share it with me.
Please do not book lessons less than 24h in advance.

Me as a Teacher
In Spanish, "todos" is pronounced ['to.ðos], but English speakers say ['to.ɾos]. You've just changed the word meaning "everyone" for the word meaning "bulls".
Learning about phonetics can also help you understand native speakers. In natural connected speech, "¿Qué es esto?" is pronounced ['ke'ses.to]. You'll learn phonetics to understand WHY this happens and how pronunciation varies by country. I'll help you acquire a neutral accent that will be accepted anywhere on Earth.
I stress the importance of ear training and correct pronunciation right from the start.
Please watch my introduction video to see a very common mistake learners make. Book a lesson now!

I am SO HAPPY to have found Miguel on Italki. Oh my goodness!! I have been wanting to find a teacher like Miguel for the longest time. He knows so much about linguistics and pronunciation and is able to quickly diagnose opportunities for improvement. Miguel is also incredibly patient, helpful, and attentive!! I'm beyond excited for our upcoming lessons and cannot recommend him enough.

Maestro Miguel is a master in these opening classes in the sole focus of pronunciation, which I absolutely love. With that as a foundation and in the meantime all the other hopes of learning a language will fall into place.

I had already watched his videos on YouTube (Spanish Input) so I knew it would be extremely helpful to be able to learn from Miguel directly. You can't get this level of expertise into pronunciation anywhere else. To be able to have one-on-one instruction and individualized feedback is a gift!

Great first introductory lesson with Miguel. I was looking specifically for a teacher who can focus on phonetics and pronunciation and look forward to learning more!

Language acquisition has both left and right brain components; it involves both an immersive, creative aspect and a structured, technical one. The former is helped by teachers that are friendly and talkative, the latter by teachers that enjoy talking about phonetics and grammar. Miguel is a rarity in that he is very comfortable in both worlds, and we naturally shift between both modes often in the course of a lesson. Both my knowledge of Spanish and my enjoyment of it (and therefore motivation to improve) has improved after five lessons. I cannot rate him highly enough.
