Swahili is one of the most widely spoken languages in Africa ā especially across East Africa ā and Iāve had the joy of teaching it for over 6 years, both part-time and full-time. One thing Iāve learned? No two students learn the same way! Thatās what makes teaching so exciting. I love creating a relaxed space where my students can speak as naturally as possible ā no pressure, just good vibes and steady progress. Itās all about feeling confident and having fun while learning!My lessons & teaching style
My lessons are all about lively, open conversations between me and my student(s). We donāt just stick to the script ā we chat, we laugh, and we practice together throughout the session to make sure everything clicks. I know learning a new language can feel overwhelming, so I keep things light and interactive to make sure you're not just learning, but actually enjoying the journey. To make things even more fun (and memorable!), I bring in pictures, songs, and real-life objects to help the language come alive. Itās learning by doing ā and it works!My teaching material

TutorOi Swahili is a Dar es Salaamābased language and culture teaching service that helps people from around the world learn Swahili through online and in-person classes. We offer both individual and group lessons, tailored to beginners, traveller, researchers, professionals, and anyone interested in connecting with Swahili-speaking communities. For those living in Dar es Salaam, we provide in-person classes for a more immersive experience. We also offer translation and transcription services.
