Classroom Teaching Experience | TEFL Certified (200-hr Lv5) | MA Philosophy (University of London) Hello! I’m Matt, a native British English speaker from London. Teaching Style For beginners I provide structure and materials to support steady progress. For intermediate and advanced students I start by learning about your goals and interests, then design lessons that match your needs and preferences. About Me I've worked in education in London for over 7 years. I fulfilled many roles, including a humanities department teaching assistant, a specialist SEND support worker, and a teacher of Religious Studies, History and Geography to classes of 30+ students. I became interested in becoming a professional English teacher when I started teaching English to students with English as an Additional Language at a secondary school in London. It was amazing to see their confidence grow when their English and academic performance improved. Hobbies and Interests I love animals and nature. I love gardening for wildlife 🐝, I have two dogs 🐶 and two tarantulas 🕷️. I also love swimming 🏊 and cycling 🚴. Qualifications • MA in Philosophy (University of London) • Postgraduate Diploma in the History of Ideas (University of London) • 200-hour Level 5 TEFL Diploma • 40-hour Teaching English for Academic Purposes • 30-hour Teaching Young Learners My Languages • Dutch — 7 years • Romanian — 3 years • Spanish — currently studying intensively • I also dabble in Portuguese, German, and Mandarin If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message.

Matthew is an excellent teacher who shows great dedication and enthusiasm in his lessons. He has extensive knowledge of the language and provides very clear explanations on a wide range of topics, with a remarkable command of both colloquial and formal language. I am really satisfied with the lessons because we focus specifically on my individual needs as a student. Without a doubt, I highly recommend taking lessons with Matthew.
