Modern Greek for people with family ties, travel plans, studies or life plans in Greece Is your goal just to throw together faulty Greek, or do you want real comprehension and coherent speech in a fascinating language, within a reasonable timeframe? I’m a native Greek speaker and a certified teacher of Greek as a foreign language. My academic background has prepared me to teach languages as foreign/second, which requires a different set of skills from simply being a native speaker or teaching native speakers. With me, you will: - reconnect with your heritage language - prepare for relocation - pass your citizenship exams - pass your CEFR-level exams - talk about your hobbies and favourite places - learn about Greek culture - learn essential workplace vocabulary and situations - ease into your Greek partner's or spouse's family gatherings - restore your previous level of fluency I teach exclusively online. My method is fully adapted to the fluidity and the different environment of online lessons rather than just mimicking a traditional classroom with a camera added on. I teach seriously and consistently, and in return I ask for motivation, diligence and punctuality. I encourage my students, but I do not give them a false sense of achievement. Greek is not a language you can learn efficiently without its grammar or alphabet. I am not using textbooks because I change the course of each lesson according to your performance. If you prefer textbooks or a single-goal/single-topic session, I would suggest looking for a teacher whose approach is better matched.
