Eight years ago I finished my studies with a second bachelor in Business, with great honorees. Immediately after that I started travelling and I never really stopped. I have lived in Korea, Philippines, Australia, New-Zealand and travelled around in 20+ other countries. Along the way, I picked up fire dancing as a hobby, which is where I discovered a passion for teaching.
To pay for these travels, I worked as a Logistic Planner, Lab Assistant, Hotel Manager, Property Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, HR-consultant and Carpenter.
One year ago, I started helping immigrants with their English. Now, I am TEFL certified and ready to help you with your struggles in learning a new language.
Me as a Teacher
I believe that everyone has different ways of learning and that is why I love one-on-one classes. I can adapt to you and come up with a method that is perfectly tutored to you.
I start with 3 types of lessons to choose from, that we alter together to reach your goals
- Conversational ==> through interesting conversations, I help you build vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. Perfect for both kids and beginner adults!
- Industry specific ==> If you have ambition to work in any of the fields that I have worked in, this is THE perfect class for you!
- Business ==> Having 2 bachelors degrees in Business, I can help you create more opportunities for your career with a new language
My lessons & teaching style
My favourite tool to use is to simply ask people what they are passionate about. I then look for articles about that topic, based on your level, so we can discuss together whatever is happening in your world. That way, you combine a very positive feeling with a new language topic learned in your brain.
For "Industry Specific" and "Business", I use situations that I have been in myself so you can avoid the awkward mistakes that I made.
With children, I use a lot more realia. I love telling stories and make them interactive. Most of all, I play games. Children are hardwired to play, because that is simply how they learn. So why not a new language?

Quinten managed to drag a comfortable and engaging conversation out of my mangled Dutch. He has a clear speaking voice as well as many interesting anecdotes. All of the technical stuff worked perfectly. He was on time, responded to messages, gave good feedback, and so on. I have nothing bad to say. 10/10 :)
