I’m really glad I found this teacher. He’s calm, supportive, and easy to talk to, so it’s simple to feel comfortable in his classes. He explains Spanish pronunciation very clearly and takes your background and goals into account. He understands the typical mistakes that come from your native language and has a clear approach to improving pronunciation. Also, since he speaks several languages himself, he really understands what language learners go through.

Very good structure of the lesson and Juan goes the extra mile in breaking things down and tailoring an approach tailored to your attributes.

Great lesson. Juan Cruz is very encouraging and is quickly helping me learn more efficiently and at the same time ease the process of speaking more fluidly and with fewer internal doubts. As a bonus in today’s lesson he included a really funny meme that I really enjoyed. His classes continue to be innovative yet balanced with practicality.

Juan Cruz provided an exceptional lesson that included a great many things: assessing my level of pronunciation and comfort reading, developing a strategy and approach to teach me Spanish keeping in mind that I have some Brazilian Portuguese under my belt, discussing how my interests could be incorporated into studying with him, and the importance and personal value that he places upon assessing a student’s competencies, strengths and weaker points and approaching systematically ways to help the student improve. There was much more than this that impressed me in this trial lesson, but know that booking a lesson with him is well worth your time as he truly invests in the quality of his lessons and is committed to helping students learn efficiently while also being relaxed and enjoying the process. Our first full lesson is tomorrow and I’m truly looking forward to it.

Lesson 2 with Juan Cruz was even better than the trial lesson! In a very supportive way he helped me to use the Spanish that I know to do a self-introduction with the option of using Portuguese as a fall-back when I got stuck. We discussed useful similarities and ways in which the languages diverge for some very useful high-frequency words. Class time flew by!
