I am a 35-year-old writer from Haugesund in Western Norway who enjoys teaching and learning languages in my free time. In addition to language tutoring, I work a professional 9-5 job and am currently in the process of writing a book. I focus on teaching basic and conversational Norwegian. In addition, I specialize in understanding of Western Norwegian dialects.
When I’m not teaching or working, I spend most of my time reading, staying physically active, and traveling. I love exploring new cultures and meeting people from all over the world.
Me as a Teacher
My goal is to foster an inclusive and dynamic learning environment where every student feels seen and supported. I prioritize meeting individual needs with expertise and a welcoming demeanor, cultivating a space that is relaxed, informal, and perfectly conducive to curiosity. No question is too small—my classroom is a safe zone for any language learner, be it beginner or advaned.
My lessons & teaching style
My teaching style is based in active learning, also known as learn by doing. Every mistake is considered as progress, and is actually one small win towards your language goals.
While I enjoy teaching standard Norwegian (Bokmål), I specialize in helping students navigate the many unique dialects of Western Norway, specifically the areas around Stavanger and Bergen. Being from Haugesund—a city perfectly situated between these two regional hubs—I have a unique ear for the nuances, rhythms, and professional terminology used throughout this region.

Deciding the correct preposition in Norwegian for "in" and "on", Are you on a train or in a train or both ? In a city ? On an island ? In a school ? - but there are variations with the answers in Norwegian - got me thinking Thanks Kevin - good examples and explanations.

Eg har hatt fleire timar med Kevin hittil, og det har vore kjempegøy og lett, heilt utan press, og det gjev meg moglegheit til å snakka fritt om mange tema.
